Halls Where possible the Village Hall or Community Centre has been the chosen venue for the Connecting Dorset equipment and connection, however, this has not been possible in all villages. In those communities without a communal building, or those villages where it was not appropriate to install the Connecting Dorset facility in the existing hall, alternative venues have been used. These have included a Co-operative Pottery sited in the middle of Symondsbury, just outside Bridport. This installation was supported by the Walbridge Trust, a local charity and as a direct result of these actions a public internet facility is now available 18 hours a week to local residents. A recent installation took place in The Shave Cross Inn in the Marshwood Vale, an extremely rural area of Dorset with a small and dispersed population. The Connecting Dorset facility has been installed in the Function Room adjoin the pub which also boasts an award winning restaurant with a Caribbean menu. Whoever said the countryside was boring! 40 venues across the county of Dorset have been connected and local people are enjoying using this increased public internet access and computer equipment for many exciting activities including
